HELP WITH MASCULINE DESTINY

Problem:

The modern generation of men is facing a disconnection from their traditional roles and masculine identity.
Societal shifts from the Industrial Age to the Digital Era have drawn men away from their families and homes, leading to a sense of confusion and loss of fulfillment.

Why:

Historical factors such as infectious diseases, infanticide, and wars shaped previous generations’ experiences and family dynamics.
Capitalism and industrialization brought progress but also disrupted traditional family bonds, with men increasingly working apart from their families.
The absence of fathers (physically/spiritually) in many households today is a result of these changes and has significant societal consequences.
Men, lacking clear rites of passage and male role models, may tend to seek maternal love in their relationships, leading to confusion and challenges in their roles.
Women, often puzzled by male weakness, suffer as a result, impacting family dynamics.

SOLUTION:

Reclaiming masculinity as a way of addressing this disconnection is crucial for men so they may actively fulfill their potential and contribute positively to maintaining the balance society requires under the chaos versus order influences demanded by nature itself.

MY ORIGIN STORY
I arrive from smack dab in the middle of a family of eleven. There were five boys and four girls and mom and dad.
Both of my parents attachments to their own parents were compromised and these influences profoundly affected their parenting.
Despite best intentions, ma was passive aggressive and dad bounced between tyranny and weakness his whole life.
This had dire consequences on all of us. Dad said I was his most sensitive child, later stating I was his brightest too, which is weird, because my siblings are all smart.
Nevertheless, I was forced by circumstances and his violence into becoming the “black sheep of the family” to survive.
It took until my mid-thirties to come out of a tailspin of drug addiction and crime when I had an epiphany over my two year old son. (read it here if you are interested)

As a high school dropout, I then began to upgrade my education while also working full time as a lay drug and alcohol counsellor.
I lacked the qualifications for college but persisted until they allowed me to start in September (as long as I promised to keep doing the high school equivalents).
Years later, after achieving the highest academic marks in each program year, I graduated “with distinction” as their #1 student in the behavioural sciences.
I then studied at two universities, the School for Addiction Studies, became a hypnotist, and wrote two books while still not having a high school diploma. I had skipped!

I worked as a counsellor full time and eventually part time while I still grappling with functional addiction, marital problems and hidden maturational deficits.
I rose to senior vice president Canada in the paid circulation sector of the newspaper industry. At one time I had 150 reps & 15 managers working for me in seven cities for a dozen newspaper clients. Regrettably, I left the business in 2015, a few years after the I-pad came out and print media died, an externality of the digital age.

Since 1986, I have kept up on the psych literature while reading a book per week, and have mentored or counselled hundreds of men and many women.
After recognizing and overcoming my own male weakness, I have come to believe this remains the greatest challenge facing mankind.
After all, women can keep a male alive to adulthood, but, bless their hearts, they don’t make men. Only men can do that.
And unless we have empowered men who can defend women, children and society at large, we are truly fucked.
Fact is, the world desperately needs powerful men. Not tyrants, nor the “alpha” hopes of the immature, but powerful individual men of masculine destiny.

Having said that, most men on this journey are at first reluctant to engage with other men. This common problem is quickly overcome.

1. JOIN MEN OF HONOUR ON FACEBOOK
The Men of Honour FB group is populated with men who have either worked with me or whom are evolved types subscribing for personal growth.

3. TAKE THE TAMING SHAME COURSE
A majority of men will carry varying levels of shame with them into adulthood. I say this after interviewing hundreds of men and women over decades of my work. I myself carried what I called my “piece of shit” shame for near fifty years, finally freeing myself from its doom and gloom inertia for good a decade ago. 4. WORK WITH THE ADVISOR TO MEN ON “THE BOOK OF ME”
Although I’m on every Men of Honour call and most Board of Defender meetings, you may prefer one on one support with me directly.
You are in luck, I’m still taking on the odd client though I can’t promise how long I can do that for.
Typically, we work together for a minimum of twelve sessions (though some men renew and I give you the same rate indefinitely.
Sessions are 70 minutes and no-expiry, meaning they never expire (ex. Some men do ten and keep two for emergencies just in case)
